Traces of creation

Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent preserves garments, accessories, drawings and documents. Prototypes, workshop sheets and photographs reveal stages of production. These are the foundation’s holdings, not a complete inventory of works displayed in Marrakech.

When the arts speak to each other

Mondrian-inspired dresses, references to painting and costumes for the stage show the designer’s curiosity. Clothing becomes a meeting point between disciplines. Looking closely at a cut or a combination of colours offers a way into that conversation.

The colours of Morocco

The designer first visited Morocco in 1966, later returning to Marrakech to draw his collections. Rather than a single influence, this was an encounter with light, gardens and new colour relationships. Morocco accompanied his creative work without defining all of it.

Display and preservation

Textiles are sensitive to their environment. Displays may rotate to protect the works and offer fresh interpretations. This journal does not publish a live exhibition programme; check the current selection with the museum.
